INTRODUCTION

weiran is a fashion designer based in New York City and Shanghai. She founded her namesake label weiræn shortly after graduating from the Parsons Fashion Design and Society MFA program in 2022. The label merges experimental, innovative techniques and traditional hand craftsmanship to subvert conventional practice and regular objects in the world of fashion. Through a cross-disciplinary approach and textile experiments, weiræn stands for the creation of a new visual language blurring the boundaries between physical and virtual worlds. weiræn is one of the digital artists invited to collaborate with Nick Knight's SHOWstudio on his first NFT project, ikon-1. Her works have appeared on 10 Magazine, Cosmopolitan, Dazed, Evening Stan-dard, Numero, Paper, V Magazine, Variety and Schön! as well as dressed by artists including Coco Rocha, Devon Lee Carlson, LORDE, Raveena, Chloe and Haile Bailey, Julia Fox and Sevdaliza among others.In March 2024, weiran presented its first runway show in China during Shanghai Fashion Week.
